Video installations behind openings in a concrete wall

This school is, like every other, a place where young people experience reality. An often unavoidable reality.

Above all in situations of unavoidable reality, secret thoughts arise - longings. The medium for longings and for dreams becomes here the video screen...   

During the building phase, niches were left in the concrete wall at seven different places scattered over the whole building. Screens were installed behind them that show video films on the subject of longing. Loudspeakers supplement the images with sounds.

The videos will later be newly produced by the students in collaboration with the teachers. In a central media room, the video player can be stocked with new tapes. The artwork is thus subject to permanent change.
The niches are small windows through which you can look from the one reality of wall, floor, ceiling, concrete and stucco onto another reality, that of dreams and longings.
